Our Dallas, TX  client is looking for a Benefit Analyst on a direct hire basis.

This exempt position is responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefit programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker’s compensation, life insurance, travel and accident plan, flexible spending plan, 401(k) plan and retirement plan). Specifically, will investigate and assist in the design of new benefit programs, improve existing programs, supervise and monitor benefit administration. Will also be expected to provide analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefit programs.

Essential Duties:
Required to research regulations impacting current benefits
Responsible for process documentation and maintenance which is needed for audits and in case of staff changes
Prepare and monitor benefit reporting requirements – annual filings, reports, and amendments
Assist with plan document revisions and maintenance
Assist with benefit communication – newsletters, material from vendor, etc.
Ensure all benefit information is current, including forms, and posted on a timely basis on the Firm portal
Manage FMLA administration and facilitate manager training regarding same
Lead the implementation, manage, and coordinate the firm’s wellness program and initiatives throughout all of the firm’s offices
Participate in and facilitate documentation for annual audit functions for all of the benefit plans
Assist with vendor selection, new program development and implementation
Monitor benefit participation and experience and prepare monthly summaries for leadership
Organize and ensure benefit information is maintained on the firm’s portal page
Complete benefit surveys and assist with other surveys, as requested
Assist with the development of HRIS benefits reporting

Back up for Benefit Manager and Specialist
Perform other related activities as are needed or assigned
Reporting Relationship
This position will report directly to the Benefits Manager who reports directly to the Human Resource Director.

Qualifications:
Knowledge
This position requires technical as well as practical knowledge of the employee benefits
Working knowledge of Employee Benefit regulations
Working knowledge in managing multi-state leaves
Government reporting and disclosure requirements
How to research and summarize projects
Understanding of HRIS, Benefit and Payroll systems
Understanding of management processes in a law firm or similar environment

Skills:
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
Is flexible and creative with strong organization skills
Is sensitive to people’s needs and concerns
Possess excellent listening skills
Is self starter and requires minimum supervision

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or management
CEBS designation or other benefits certification; SPHR or PHR a plus
A minimum of five years of experience in the Employee Benefits field
Management experienced desired or has held a position that required minimum supervision
Experience handling multiple activities simultaneously
Experience working for a law firm or professional services industry is preferred
