Our Garland client is looking for a Construction Draftsman on a contract to hire basis.
Summary of Position:
Consults with Engineering Manager , draftsman , customers, sales personnel as well as other departments
Qualifications:
Proficient with AutoCAD 2004 or newer including Arch Desktop .
Produce contract drawing packages including: Floor plans, electrical , HVAC, plumbing, floor framing, roof framing , blocking/foundation , exterior elevations and building type specific details.
Strong knowledge with IBC 2003 , IRC 2005, and other building codes .
Assist in the development and maintain written construction specifications.
Effectively work as a team member with sales and production personnel, other departments as well as our clients throughout the design/construction process.
Manage work loads to meet demands , commitments and deadlines.
Teach, mentor, supervise junior design/drafting staff.
Light frame-wood construction experience desirable.
Requirements:
4-6 years experience residential design and drafting experience
High School diploma required
Commercial , residential and remodeling knowledge, structural design , applicable building codes , product knowledge.
Engineering and estimating knowledge a plus.
Strong computer skills and knowledge of Windows , Excel, AS-400 , Outlook and computer file structure .
Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously , including prioritizing work load to meet deadlines.
Detail orientated, strong organizational skills, customer service and interpersonal skills .
Dependable , good work ethic, reliable, punctual including a Positive “Can Do” attitude .
