Position Description:
Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; this includes providing information to external auditors as needed.
Maximizes return, and limits risk, on cash by minimizing bank balances.
Prepares budgets by establishing schedules.
Assists in collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data, as well as recommending plans.
Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
Ensures operation of equipment by establishing preventive maintenance requirements and service contracts; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
Plans, monitors and appraising job results for the accounting and finance team.
Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

The chosen candidate will have analytical skills, be detailed oriented, and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize multiple complex tasks

Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; master’s degree a plus
7 or more years of financial accounting experience,
3 to 5 years in an accounting management or assistant controller role
QuickBooks experience required (Enterprise preferred)
Understands accounting concepts using the Accrual Method
Understands accounting concepts using the Percentage of Completion method
Strong analytical skills
Strong and proactive communication skills
Ability to meet tight deadlines and deliver under pressure in line with the activity of the business
Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholder groups, including company management, accounting and finance staff, and outside entities
Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as well as having a strong work ethic
