DESCRIPTION:
Lean Philosophy throughout the Business Area NAM, including all departments and functional areas, through a support staff of Lean Change Agents. Supports the NAM Executive Staff with the implementation of Lean Management. Provides consulting and coaching on advanced Lean strategies and Techniques to simplify business process. Heads Lean Management Group of Lean Change Agents to provide facilitated training for coworkers from shop floor to Executive Staff consistent with the global Lean Philosophy. Provides systems and methods for sharing of Lean Countermeasures and industry best practices within NAM and with Global Lean professionals. Networks with external Lean companies and professionals to bring external expertise. Supports the management of Lean related business improvement projects. Provides assessment of implementation progress and evaluation of financial benefits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Supports Executive Staff and managers with the implementation, execution and mentoring of Lean
• Provides Lean training and coaching for all levels of North America coworkers
• Manager of Lean related business improvement and development projects
• Supports and drives the solving of complex business problems with advanced Lean techniques
• Develops BA NAM plans and strategy for Lean Execution and Cultural Change
• Heads, trains and coach staff of Lean Change Agents to support all NAM departments
• Provides measurable financial and customer benefit of Lean effort
• Assesses execution of Lean plans and progression
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide EHS Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures. Supports QESH effort through Lean activity
• Adheres to company and department policies, procedures, and standards
• Cultivates external Lean network for lessons applicable
• Participates in Global Lean Exchange Meetings
• Shares Lean lessons globally
• Develops common training material for all of North America
• Performs other duties assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervisor of the Lean Management Group. Provides continuous coaching and assessments for manager and team progress in application of Lean Principles
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Business or Technical related Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience required.
• 10 + years management and leadership experience preferred and 5 + years experience in leading and conducting process design and improvement projects with cross functional teams.
• Experience with engineered products, quality principles, and related technical knowledge.
• Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with internal and external customers, under demanding conditions.
• Ability to work with and evaluate external consultants.
• Knowledge and experience in Lean Management; Expert knowledge of Lean Tools such as VSM, Kaizen.
• Demonstrated experience in process and project management and improvement
• Ability and flexibility to travel up to 30% of time (domestic and/or internationally) as business need dictates.
