Our client in The Colony, TX Is looking for a Director of Operations. The selected candidate will have the following skill set:

Director of Operations

A fast growing, industrial CNC machinery company seeks a technically skilled Director of Operations. As Director of Operations for the North American sales and service hub of a manufacturer of high speed, multi axis industrial machinery, the ideal candidate will have a technical background, engineering degree, and/or experience with multi axis CNC machinery. The position oversees all operational aspects including service, installation, inventory and warehouse coordination, office management, and superior customer care. Excellent management and team building skills must combine with a technical understanding of machinery and processes to direct service and installation teams. Oversees current staff of 20, including 14 technicians. The focus of the position is managing service and field service teams, while providing fantastic customer care, parts fulfillment, and a great overall customer experience.
Some travel is required to customer sites, tradeshows, and to German based headquarters and factory for training and business meetings.

Operations involves:
Responsibilities
Ensuring high quality customer service and maintaining frequent customer contact to promote sales, problem solving and end user satisfaction.
In house and field service team management, team building, training, and growth
Operational improvements including procedure implementation, new technology transfer, customer trainings, team training, parts fulfillment and warehouse operations, accounting functional oversight and budgeting
Customer care, including direct customer contacts, down time management, and regular communication
Logistical planning, scheduling of installations and service interventions
Promotion of company products, including sales of aftermarket parts and consumables
Troubleshooting capability with team members, including technical applications
Mid to long range strategy development

Job Requirements:
Superior management and team building skills combined with technical knowledge and background
Regular communication from inventory needs to technical requirements with German based factory, engineers, financial team, service department, and others
Strong change agent who formulates and recommends process improvements designed to create highly satisfied customers
BS in engineering; optical experience a plus
Excellent communication skills including interpersonal, professional, verbal and written
Experience in a fast paced environment with great self starting skills
Experience with industrial CNC machinery
Strong computer knowledge, including MS Office
25% travel
Managed at least 10 employees in service and customer care roles
Excellent strategic thinking/problem solving
