Our downtown Nashville TN client is looking for a Docket Specialist to join their team on a direct hire basis
Position Summary
A Docket Specialist is responsible for recording and monitoring client and legal deadlines and informing responsible attorneys of deadlines in a timely manner. Docket Specialists work closely with the Docket Supervisor and Docket Coordinators to support the Intellectual Property practice in multiple offices.
Representative Key Responsibilities
The Docket Specialist is responsible for opening, reviewing, and distributing mail; inputting and verifying deadline dates into docketing system, publishing docket reminder and following up on daily filing requirements. The Docket Specialist will also review all USPTO filings for completion and accuracy of format, review documents and determine docketing dates for Patent Office litigation (re-examination and interference), input and verify new applications, provide system search upon specific request and process filing receipts.
Required Education, Knowledge and Experience
Candidate should have 2-3 years of IP docketing experience in a law firm. A High school diploma is required; Undergraduate degree preferred. The candidate should have the ability to type 45+ wpm and experience in using MS Office Suite. Candidates should possess excellent written communication skills, poses a strong attention to detail and be self-motivated as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
