Our St. Louis, MO based client is looking for an Elevator Field Superintendent, on a direct hire basis – this company is willing to pay relocation.

Scope of responsibility:
The Field Superintendent is responsible for the servicing and repair of all assigned units to conform to customer and Company requirements as related to quality improvement, safety, cost improvement and customer satisfaction in support of Region objectives. The field superintendent is also responsible for employee selection, training and safety for all assigned projects

Duties:
Assures that each project meets Region and Company quality standards and meets all contract requirements.
Implements customer and Company requirements for quality, performance reliability and passenger safety for each project under his/her supervision.
Implements EEO/AA requirement consistent with Region and/or State and Federal requirements.
Supports sales staff in estimating service orders, scheduling and executing orders, and investigating and resolving customer complaints.
Manages ongoing program of project audit to assure conformance of performance standards of quality, completeness and safety.
Implements route management strategy in support of assuring uniform application of preventive maintenance procedures while controlling manpower to minimum level.
Develops spirit of teamwork and dedication to quality improvement among all employees.
Evaluates and initiate requests for tooling where such tooling would support productivity improvement.
Maintains and manages pro-active relationships with local IUEC business agent.
Manages existing accounts and service technicians
Responsible for effective management of hourly field technicians, providing guidance and leadership, setting clear standards, monitoring performance and providing feedback to eliminate obstacles. Selects candidates, provides training, assigns employees to jobs, makes personnel decisions regarding discipline and discharge when required in accordance with Company policies. Establishes and maintains pro-active work relationship with local IUEC business agent.
Contributes to Company profitability by controlling costs on various projects: maximizing efficiencies within labor and material budgets. Monitors job costs, schedules jobs and develops working relationships with customers.
Supports company sales objectives by conducting job surveys, preparing estimates, establishing material requirements, following and leading the BDP processes outlined.
Ensure materials, parts and tools are according to project specifications.
Supports safety training objective, scheduling, conducting and /or coordinating training sessions for employees on all safety topics.
Protects the interest of employees in accordance with company safety standard.

Requirements:
Education Bachelor’s or Technical degree desired
Experience Minimum three to five years experience in installation and service of elevators/escalators. Minimum of one year as lead mechanic to demonstrate leadership ability Requires a working knowledge of elevators and escalators to manage and direct field personnel to meet Region goals. Must have ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing and have proven leadership skills.
Computer Skills  Proficient use of computer programs including Lotus Notes, SAP, and Microsoft products.
