Job Description

The HR Manager will be responsible for division land site level recruiting, as well as providing manufacturing HR support. This person will provide assistance to the current site HR manager in driving critical workforce change initiatives, while maintaining positive employee relations. In addition, this person will assist in the coaching of line managers in addressing employee morale, motivation, and performance; coach leaders in understanding legal requirements when dealing with employee issues; coach leaders to ensure direct lines of communication and create an ongoing connection between employees and the business; implement processes and practices to maintain an environment free of hostility or intimidation.
The HR Manager will work with manufacturing managers to ensure that performance expectations are clearly communicated to all employees; work with managers to ensure a feedback-rich workplace; coach managers to accurately assess employee performance, recognize and reward superior performance and proactively address performance problems at all levels in the plant; coach managers in critically analyzing organizational changes and linking them to business needs; work with managers to plan change, manage its implementation, identifying and address employee impact and develop/implement communication plans; work closely with managers to identifying top talent and actively manage their development; work with managers to attract, develop and retain top talent; work with managers to identify and implement talent upgrade opportunities, as well as organizational alignment strategies; develop a work environment where employees are valued for their individual differences and contributions.

The HR Manager will also work with managers to ensure the organization has the necessary skills and capabilities to deliver desired results; coach managers in developing high performance work structures and processes; work with managers to ensure salary adjustments and bonuses are closely tied to performance; work with managers to ensure key positions are compensated appropriately relative to market.
Ensure that all policies and procedures are applied consistently, equally, and fairly throughout the organization or have them officially changed. Effectively communicating those changes to the management group and ensuring they are equally and consistently applied.

Strong HR presence in the manufacturing area (up to 60%), including day-to-day HR counseling and training with front line supervisors, proactively addressing employee issues, and improving communications between hourly employees and management.

Core Competencies:
Minimum of Bachelor Degree in relevant Human Resources field, graduate level a plus.
10+ years experience in Human Resources. SPHR a plus.
Proven experience as a driver of change initiatives.
10+ years HR experience in a union-free manufacturing organization.
10+ years in an HR Manager role within a manufacturing plant, or equivalent of plant experience and HR career progression.
Strong staffing experience as a generalist.
Familiarity in managing FMLA, FLSA, ADA-AA, harassment prevention, harassment investigations, EEOC claims avoidance, HIPAA, Dispute Resolution process, etc.
Work closely with the Safety Department to assist in worker’s comp investigations, injury investigations, accommodation process, etc.
Demonstrated experience implementing strategic HR initiatives in a high performance organization and driving change.
Demonstrated experience working closely with managers to assess, develop and upgrade talent.
Demonstrated experience coaching managers in performance management and helping them develop a culture of frequent and candid feedback.
Strong demonstrated organizational, administrative and implementation skills. Ability to communicate effectively through public speaking with all levels of the organization.
Proficiency HRIS systems, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
