Our client in Houston, TX is looking for a Business Development Manager on a temporary basis. The selected candidate will have the following skill set:

Position Overview:
This exempt position’s primary role is to provide both strategic and tactical business development support for the firm’s transactional attorneys.

Job Responsibilities:
Help develop and execute group business development strategies, plans and projects
Assist in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities and targets, facilitating cross-selling initiatives, participating on client-specific target teams, maintaining sales pipeline, and supporting deal/matter tracking
Support all group RFP/RFI/Proposal/Pitch opportunities
Assist with the integration of lateral partners with a special focus on target priorities
Manage the maintenance and support of deal tracking for league table submissions
Stay abreast of current developments and trends through proactive market research
Work with the Competitive Intelligence Manager in securing actionable intelligence on clients and prospects
Work with the firm’s Public Relations Group to secure effective exposure in the media for the group, its leading attorneys and accomplishments
Ensure group business development and marketing initiatives are being executed at the local, regional and national levels
Coordinate and manage group events in conjunction with the firm’s Events Specialists
Develop and manage the group business development budgets
Assist attorneys with successful business development strategies/techniques
Assist Group leaders in the execution and implementation of the group plans

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business
MBA preferred
7+ years of business development experience in a professional setting required
External media relations experience preferred
Must possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Must effectively prioritize multiple projects while consistently meeting deadlines
Must be an engaged, motivated, “hands on” team player
Strong computer proficiency, with particular knowledge of InterAction, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Some travelling required
