Our Murfreesboro, TN client is looking for a Logistics/Distribution Manager to join their team on a direct hire basis.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Logistics Manager will focus on leading all aspects of logistics for the company. This Manager will work with the management team to develop the logistics strategy for the entire business and will be responsible for execution that positions the company as the leader in customer service and delivery. The position reports to the VP of Operations.
This position requires excellent customer focus, high energy and entusiam, forward thinking, strong analytical capability, excellent problem solving, the ability to manage change, solid execution and a commitment to help the company meet the financial objectives and exceed customer expectations. The Manager must demonstrate industry-leading knowledge and expertise in a variety of logistics concepts, practices and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a thorough understanding of industry-leading and competitive logistics and distribution policies, practices and procedures
Assist Purchasing with management of freight contracts to optimize cost and service
Manage development and implementation of complete “WMS” Warehouse Management System including equipment
Coordinate with other locations to ensure best practices are shared and utilized
Develop and maintain distribution facilities, structures, processes and systems that support the company leadership strategy and long-term financial objectives
Actively and appropriately manage service levels and inventory flow to maintain company’s position as a market leader
Prepare and manage annual logistics objectives and budgets
Develop and maintain appropriate metrics to insure that annual and long term customer service, delivery and financial objectives are met
Attract, develop and retain quality logistics personnel capable of producing results that exceed customer expectations while meeting company financial objectives
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION:
Ten to Fifteen years successful logistics and distribution experience. MUST have both
Minimum 4 year undergraduate degree-A MUST
Experience working in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Results-oriented, self-starter
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Good team leadership, development and facilitation skills
Ability to manage, lead and influence in a matrix organization
Strong bias toward satisfying customers
