Our Northwest Houston TX client, is in need of a Metallurgical Engineer for a Direct Hire opportunity.
Position requires the ability to conduct routine and non-routine metallurgical testing and failure analysis within specified turnaround times, adhering to a Corporate Quality System and applicable test methods.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Contact directly with customers to discuss potential or existing metallurgical projects.
Perform routine metallographic examination analysis, analytical investigations, and failure analysis
Operate and/or supervise the operation of Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM/EDS)
Interpret and validate results and data
Compile technical reports
Maintain equipment maintenance logs and perform regular equipment maintenance (if applicable)
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Perform to a high standard of quality
Assist with the training/mentoring of new staff in within the department
Job Specifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science, with an emphasis on metals.
7+ years of industry experience
Ability to communicate proficiently (verbal and written)
Commitment to customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Proficient in Laboratory Test Methods and Quality Standards (ASTM, ISO, NACE)
Knowledge in the operation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory metallurgical testing equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Good Understanding of Health and Safety Protocols
Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
