Our Nashville (Green Hills), TN client is looking for a Mortgage Loan Underwriter to join their team.
Position Description:
Responsible for reviewing mortgage loans to ensure compliance with bank, FHA/VA and secondary market standards. Responsibility of the Underwriter to communicate with processors, originators and other internal and external clients, the current guideline & requirements for each investor. The Underwriter will be responsible for all loan types including FHA/VA, Conventional and other THDA & MI requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
Underwriting FHA & VA, Conventional & THDA Retail loans
Underwriting Jumbo Loan Products
Updating data in Encompass
Provide credit/underwriting support to internal processing staff and outside sales
Scrutinize loan documentation and confirming data integrity
Reviewing and analyzing appraisals, prelim and purchase contracts
Analyze the overall risk associated with borrower & making decisions on the credit worthiness of the borrower.
Issuing loan approval, counter offers or denials
Work with compliance guidelines to ensure Federal, State & local compliance of all mortgage and loan materials
Underwrite mortgage on a timely basis, adhering to all service levels
Keep up to date with all individual investor guideline/program changes and train processing staff and sales force accordingly
Review post-closing decencies and correct/ship appropriate documentation
Review of all Post Closing FHA flies for insuring in a timely manner
Ensure quality of all loans meet investor and Bank standards
Stay in compliance with DE underwriting Standards to maintain DE status.
