Frontline Source Group  – temporary staffing and direct hire firm – is looking for an Optical Project Manager for our Dallas, TX client on a direct hire basis.

Seeking a project engineer responsible for large scale optical manufacturing implementations in North America.  The trained engineer will work closely as customer interface to the factory for pre installation planning, site preparation, utilities build up, and layout and logistical planning. As an expert on the production system, you will guide the installation and training processes, machine runoff, and handover to the customer.  You will guide the on-site activities between the factory technical teams and those of the customer location for a successful manufacturing cell implementation.  The project engineering will take place for extended periods at different locations, offering the opportunity to temporarily locate at the customer site, while traveling to and interfacing with the Dallas home office and factory in Germany. Previous project engineering/management a significant plus
Excellent Oral and Written Communication (interpersonal, phone, and documentation)
Expertise with drive controls, electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems
Organizing, planning, site preparation skills
Strong technical troubleshooting skills
Friendly, Eager, and Social – A great field representative of the company
Enjoys a fast paced, progressive environment with the ability to multi-task
Regular travel includes long term assignments throughout North America

Job Description:
Learn and master new product lines including multiple machine types, software, control systems
Coordinate site preparation of customer prior to installation; including utilities and logistics, machinery layout
Commission new equipment at customer site to optimal performance with support of factory technical staff
Diagnose and troubleshoot machine and process issues
Runoff and handover of processing cell to customer personnel
Provide field service, diagnostic and repair of equipment on customer’s site
Coordinate parts supply, software support, and other key support needs
Train customers on site in general maintenance and operation practices
Temporarily locate to customer locations
Accurately and Completely Report and Document all actions

Qualifications:
Engineering degree
Experience diagnosing control systems, drive systems, PLC systems, and PC systems
Experience in mechanical system replacement and precision alignment
Optical Process knowledge (Ophthalmic Industry) experience a plus.
