Our client in Salt Lake City, Utah Is looking for an PDC Applications Engineer .
POSITION SUMMARY
This individual will be the liaison with the design engineers and manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City to help rapidly advance our client’s PDC bit technology as well as other bit products and drilling tool products used in oil, gas, mining and additional drilling applications. Plans are actively in place to grow this business in the key Oil & Gas markets of the world, in particular the Middle East, the Caspian region, Russia and Eastern Australia and extensive travel in support of these ambitions is anticipated.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Candidates should understand all aspects of current drilling technology and be able to recommend, support and supervise the running of bits with our client’s sales personnel, distributors and end users of the product.
An ability to interpret sonic logs, geological information, offset bit records and other relevant information to be able to prepare professional bit proposals is an essential requirement of the position as well as the ability to train others in these same skills to assist in the growth of this product’s market share worldwide.
Job Duties:
Strong knowledge of PDC bit engineering and design
Advanced knowledge of principles, concepts and theories pertaining to bit design
Lead all development, design and marketing initiatives for the product line
Understand what the customer wants and communicate that need to internal teams in a clear, systematic way
Define customer applications for the product and design product positioning to support these applications
Hands on field experience from traveling to rigs and running product
Product management and knowledge of bit applications
Give technical advice for bit types based on formation and application
Requirements:
Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Petroleum) or in Earth Science (Geology, Geophysics)
Experience : Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role working for one of the recognized PDC Bit manufacturers or end users.
