Our Northwest Houston, TX client is in need of a Pipeline Mapper for a contract to possible opportunity.
Description
This Mapping Design position will support project design efforts for pipelines and pipeline facilities. Each day, you will be an important leader of a team as you participate in the design, coordination, and execution of multiple projects. You should be a self-motivated, team-focused individual with experience using AutoCAD for engineering projects. You should also have the desire to grow personally and professionally with each project.
Qualifications:
Interface with Project personnel and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design.
Demonstrate strong leadership skills in pipeline drawing creation, design, and construction.
Maintain a cooperative, efficient and good working environment.
Meet Layout requirements and develop alternate Design Layouts as required.
Will lead entry level drafters (mappers) and must work with project engineers.
Effectively conduct meetings.
Assist in preparing pipeline estimates/schedules and determine man-hour/man-power requirements.
Motivate Pipeline Designers to obtain maximum productivity.
Provide direction to and guidance on CAD design.
Perform checking of all Pipeline Deliverable as appropriate to the Discipline to ensure they clearly depict the Design.
Review constructability, operability and safety of design.
Prepares designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards and procedures.
Reviews completed work with design and drafting personnel responsible for its completion to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design data.
Understands and assists with the planning and scheduling of design tasks associated with assigned project.
Assists in interpreting industry codes, permits, and standards, and ensures design and drawing compliance.
Create and review pipeline alignment sheets.
Work with Project Managers and Engineers to estimate quantities of Design drawings for complete Design packages. Included, but not limited to permits, plats, Site Specifics, Alignments.
Position requires extensive knowledge of survey data, pipeline construction layout, rights-of-ways, and aerial photography/imagery.
Knowledge, Certification and Education:
3-5 years AutoCAD experience
Will have some technical understanding of piping materials, components, valves, etc.
Computer literate – proficient in a wide variety of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Access)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to develop relationships with clients, contractors, subcontractors, etc.
Be a self-starter/self-motivated, detail oriented.
Contribute to methods of improving work processes.
Working Knowledge of CAD
2008 Auto CAD/C3D 2011
GIS Experience is a plus
