Our client in Dallas, TX is looking for a Purchasing Manager .  The selected candidate will have the following skill set:

Position Overview:
Negotiate the best possible price point and service guarantee with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, or other goods used by the firm.  Extensive knowledge and ability to negotiate best vendor terms and conditions, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements within firm objectives are essential in this role.

Job Responsibilities:
Monitor and analyze trends in firm spending and inventory control in order to make recommendations for the future and to identify areas for possible savings
Assist the Director of Human Resources to establish purchasing policies and ensure compliance
Administer bidding process and contracts for vendor performance/compliance within established limits for the purpose of securing items and/or services within budget and in compliance with firm standards
Analyze trends and market conditions for the present and future pricing, availability, lead time and capacity of goods and services
Interview, identify, and qualify potential new vendors or suppliers in order to secure more cost effective sources of products and services
Compile data from vendors for the purpose of analyzing issues, ensuring compliance with a wide variety of purchasing policies and procedures, and /or monitoring purchasing processes
Serve as liaison with vendors for the purpose of monitoring and consolidation of orders for better management of expenses
Examine bids and make recommendation to establish account/credit and terms
Administer American Express Corporate Purchasing Card program
Negotiate blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitor cost during the time period
Ensure purchase budget policies are followed
Conduct budget analysis to ensure adherence to policy
Check requisitions for appropriate approval and client/matter numbers

Requirements:
5+ years’ of purchasing experience required
Certified Purchasing Manager, preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in a business related area required
Professional services experience preferred
Must demonstrate a positive, proactive, and self-directed approach
Strong negotiating and client-service skills required
Clearly understands the rationale for why processes must follow certain steps
Must pay attention to details and have the ability to follow up and follow through
Demonstrated judgment, tact, candor, and resourcefulness
Able to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of firm personnel in a team environment and across multiple offices
Excellent planning and organizational skills required
Must be proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Overtime and occasional travel may be required
