Our Downtown Houston, TX client is seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join their team on a Direct Hire basis.

This is an opportunity to join a large, established practice with excellent benefits.  The ideal candidate will have previous experience with merger, acquisitions, and joint ventures in Real Estate and Oil & Gas, is an excellent team player, and has excellent organizational skills.

Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct research and perform various tasks assisting in cases associated with landlord-tenant disputes and land-use matters.
Assist in closings and post-closing matters, including organizing and attending closings, preparing closing document packets and preparing post-closing document binders.
Prepare documents for meetings.
Assist in title and survey review for both commercial real estate matters as well as corporate and other department transactions
Assist in title objection and title curative matters
Assist lawyers in the preparation of lease agreements, purchase and sale agreements, easements, amendments, subleases and other legal documentation.
Coordinate legal due diligence for all acquisitions; including state regulatory issues, licensing and inspection requirements, employee issues, review of existing contracts and services and any other areas with legal implication.
Assist in the review and preparation of client files for production.
Coordinate filings with government agencies and county clerk offices.
Monitor filings at various government agencies and retrieve filings as requested
Organize and maintain precedent files
Attend to daily administrative matters.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of five (5) years work experience in a law firm environment, or related professional experience
Experience with support for merger, acquisitions and joint ventures in the oil and gas and real estate areas.
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to create, compose and edit written materials. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person, by e-mail and telephone and follow the instruction effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff and provide information in a professional manner.
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals.
Ability to travel to private and public buildings, locally and statewide, via private or public conveyance to assist attorney in attending to client needs on legal matters.
Knowledge of the principles and procedures of legal research.
Knowledge of legal contract, agreement and settlement procedures and documentation.
Extensive knowledge and skill in utilizing the Internet; experience with legal research tools preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including MSWord, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Ability to proofread materials for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors.
