Our Northwest Houston, TX Client is looking to directly hire a Regional Sales Manager.

Purpose:
Develop and leads the sales and marketing effectiveness strategy to enable sales professionals to succeed at each stage of the customer’s buying process and ultimately earn the business on the right terms in the right timeframe. The duties described herein are indicative of the type of work expected to be performed in this role and are not necessarily all-inclusive.

Required Skills, Knowledge And Experiences:
Minimum education level – Bachelor’s Degree in Business is essential; Master’s Degree or MBA preferred
Industrial Sales, Business, or Engineering preferred field of study Industrial Manufacturing, Petrochemical, Defense, or Oil/Gas Industry experience required
Knowledge of weld-fittings and coatings highly preferred
Experience with more than one alloy strongly desired
Minimum of 8 years of experience in sales and business development required
13+ years of experience is highly preferred

Must exhibit highly developed skills to motivate, inspire, and persuade
High level of decision-making skills involving the use of judgment with an emphasis on the development
of new/improved procedures and on the translation of policy into operational plans
Delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual goals; and outputs are subject to periodic review against targets
Contributory impact on the organization in terms of revenue generation, business development, resource utilization, and
key account management
People developer for direct reports, acts in an advisory and facilitative capacity as the manager of the team
Responsible for articulating sales strategy
Implementing sales strategy by operationalizing
Providing work direction upon which others take action

Key Responsibilities: (Divided into percentages for approximate time spent per duty)
Assesses data provided by sales staff and implements regional sales strategies (20%)
Participates with other key account managers and sales management in developing sales strategies for national
accounts, including identification of target accounts and opportunities (20%)
Accompanies junior sales professionals on calls where appropriate and contributes of training of less experienced
sales representatives (20%)
Develops and implements sales training through a team of sales trainers to monitor and improve standards of performance
of the sales force of more than 20 (20%)
Develop travel, expense, and sales budgets (20%)

Nature & Scope:
Revenue targets are monthly, quarterly and annually
Regional territory is Midwest and South
Position reports to National Sales Manager
Positions has 1 receptionist, 3 inside sales reps, and 2 sales support admins
Approximately 25% travel
Number of employees supervised: Exempt (3) Hourly (3)

Interfaces:
Internal: Executive team, rest of sales organization, corporate departments such as production, purchasing, and accounting
External: Key accounts, new customers
