Our client in Brownwood, TX is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer on a Direct Hire basis.
The incumbent will be responsible for engineering projects including design, specification, fabrication and installation of new manufacturing equipment, facilities and tooling and continuous improvement of existing systems.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and oversee fabrication, purchase and installation of new equipment, controls, and machine components and tools.
Develop and implement designs for improving mechanical and electrical systems on existing manufacturing equipment.
Define and implement improvements for quality, cost reduction and labor efficiencies.
Work with and often lead cross-functional teams to define the scope, objectives, requirements, interdependencies, assignments and timing of new projects from concept to completion.
Direct Plastics personnel in the installation or repair of equipment according to specific design guidelines.
Work closely with Corporate Engineering on major equipment or process additions or improvements.
Assist and often lead the review and specification of equipment purchases to insure that applicable safety requirements are met.
Oversee and verify that work being performed by outside contractors meet all required specifications.
Develop feasibility studies for new ideas and innovations related to new and existing manufacturing systems.
Prepare and present status reports on long term and specialty projects.
Perform other engineering work as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Mechanical and minimum of 3 years’ experience in an applicable equipment design
