Our Grapevine, TX client is seeking a Senior Data Warehouse Developer on a direct hire basis.
Under general direction, develops, codes, tests and debugs new complex software solutions or enhancements to existing software in a maintenance capacity. Has excellent understanding of business application. Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them. Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. May assist in development of software technical documentation. Demonstrates software. Demonstrates broad knowledge of technical solutions. Designs and codes complex applications using advanced technology. May create optimization programs to resolve problems. May design and build prototype applications.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the development of Financial / Marketing subject areas for the Enterprise Data Warehouse
Assist in enhancements to, and optimization / clean-up of existing Data Warehouse modules
Interact with business users to clarify requirements
Coordinate with source system owners to bring in appropriate data
Operate effectively in an Agile development environment
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Experience:
At least 5 years experience as a Teradata developer / DBA
Proficiency with all Teradata utilities (BTEQ, TPUMP, MLOAD)
Perl / Shell scripting skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Travel Industry / On-line Retail experience a big plus
