Our NW Houston, TX client is in need of a Senior Expeditor for a Direct Hire opportunity.

Responsibilities:
Direct, supervise and coordinate expediting activities of the materials and equipment purchased locally and overseas for multiple projects across the company
Arrange pre-manufacturing meetings with suppliers and sub-suppliers
Make field expediting visits to suppliers and their sub-suppliers as required
Closely monitor and take necessary steps to avoid slippage in delivery
Accelerate progress or recommend the necessary actions to maintain or improve agreed delivery dates
Ensure delivery dates are adhered and targets are met
Get fabrication schedule and ensure on time submission of progress reports
Provide effective document expediting support and coordination
Provide detailed updates to all interested parties on the status of supplier documentation
Coordinate timely flow of engineering documents both internal and external
Identify potential problems and report these to the project
Report to Project Management Team (PMT) in case of delay and shall describe corrective actions taken
Coordinate Traffic and Logistics activities with clients’ 3rd party providers for shipment of materials and equipment to shop/site
Train and guide junior expeditors on the team

Requirements:
Degree in Supply Chain Management is preferred
Candidates with closely related experience that are not degreed, will be considered
8+ years of experience
Experience working in a manufacturing environment is required
Experience with valves is preferred
