Frontline Source Group – temporary staffing and direct hire firm – is looking for a Software Developer for our Northwest Houston TX client on a contract basis.
Summary:
The Software Developer will work with a software project team to design, program, and maintain
innovative, scalable, in-house software applications. These software applications will allow transfer
of data across multiple platforms and include automated tools to simplify various engineering tasks and calculations.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop innovative and creative software applications based on criteria established by the software project team.
Review and implement existing engineering software & MS Excel based tools into new consolidated software packages.
Participate in establishing software design criteria by maintaining a general understanding of engineering sales, design, and manufacturing processes
Interface with program users across departments within the company
Troubleshoot, debug, and test current tools and newly developed software.
Support the software project team in rollout, training, and documentation such as end-user help files
Evaluate third party software to determine compatibility of data transfer with new applications
Follow IT department coding, source control standards, deployment process, change management process and security protocols
Work with the engineering team to gather and document requirements.
Produce technical specification document.
The position may require some domestic and international travel
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related field from an accredited four year college or university
Minimum 4 years’ experience
Working knowledge of object oriented computer programming including
Development using Microsoft Windows platform
Visual Studio development environment
C++, C# programming language
GUI design
Visual BASIC for Office Applications
.NET development platform
SQL
Experience with AutoDesk, CADWorx applications and Team Foundation Server is an asset
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Must be self-motivated and team oriented, capable of learning, managing time, priorities, and operating well under pressure with little supervision
