Frontline Source Group – temporary staffing and direct hire firm – is looking for a SQL Developer/DBA for our Fort Worth, TX client on a direct hire basis.

The SQL Developer/DBA is accountable for the performance, maintenance, synchronization, security, and accessibility of all database systems with demonstrated proficiency in database replication, backup and restore, performance tuning and scalability.  The position does extensive custom SQL development including stored procedures, views, and functions with extensive use of T-SQL programming and provides technical support to application developers and end users.  This position is accountable for troubleshooting system issues; developing and monitoring scheduled jobs and maintenance plans; and for proactively monitoring the performance of databases.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
Designs, implements and maintains the database architectures enhancing the integrity, security and performance of the database operating environment by collaborating with application developers, server administrators, project management, and end users to accomplish goals and objectives.  Provides effective/accurate time estimates based on documented requirements
Develops, tests, and implements extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) processes from external and internal sources with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
Provides effective support on a 24/7 on-call rotation basis by researching & analyzing issues to determine database related implications, effectively communicating with all impacted parties, and troubleshooting & resolving issues with a sense of urgency to minimize any system downtime.
Ensures future growth ramifications are considered in all design decisions, forecasting system and storage requirements to accommodate growth in data storage and performance needs. Continuously evaluates the operating performance of the database environment to ensure maximum performance by proactively monitoring the performance of all databases and by developing and implementing changes to enhance overall performance.  Performs ongoing planning and monitoring of database size, performance, and hardware capacity.
Continually increases technical knowledge and proactively applies knowledge by keeping abreast of changes in technology via available resources, and utilizes this knowledge by recommending appropriate changes (e.g. programming techniques, software, performance measurement tools, systems and process, etc.).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science plus
3 to 5 years of database development and administration experience

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
Extensive knowledge & experience of Microsoft SQL 2008 or higher required.
Strong SQL programming skills including, developing and testing T-SQL stored procedures and queries.
Expert experience in database Backup, Restore and Recovery procedures.
Strong understanding of relational database modeling and design.
Experience in tuning and analyzing SQL Server database performance with native and third party tools.
Knowledge and experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
Knowledge and experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) development and administration.
Hands on experience with SQL Management Studio (SSMS) and other SQL Server management tools.
Demonstrated ability to work in teams with a collaborative interpersonal style.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
Strong attention to detail skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively document procedures.
Ability to work weekends and after business hours.
Strong desire and passion to learn new technologies
Demonstrated commitment to quality.
MCITP / MCSA desirable.
Knowledge of competing database platforms.
Possess accurate keyboarding proficiency
