Our Grand Prairie client is looking for a Staff Accountant on a direct hire basis. This position will report to the Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager.

General Job Functions:
Partnering with the Senior Accountants to ensure accurate accounting and analysis and to drive the monthly close process
Accounting responsibilities will center on the development, ongoing maintenance, and analysis of standard costs and operational performance
The Staff Accountant will also be responsible for completing “ready-to-audit” balance sheet reconciliations and coordinate with the Senior Accountant to explain variances to budget

Summary of Position:

Participate in performing accurate and effective monthly accounting closes and financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP
Prepare journal entries and G/L account reconciliations, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation and analysis supporting accounting estimates and conclusions
Prepare monthly income statement and balance sheet packages
Perform cost accounting activities such as standard cost analysis and review and recording of inventory count adjustments
Perform variance analysis such as actual versus forecast and actual versus standard costs for key financial statement lines such as sales, discounts, material cost, labor, freight, gross margin, operating expenses, inventory, and receivables
Assist with preparation of monthly Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) of financial results for upper level management
Assist in managing the company’s cash flow through preparing analysis of historical and projections
Assist in special projects and special requests as required
Assist in recommending and implementing value added process and procedural improvements
Assist in identifying risk areas and putting procedures in place to mitigate these
Participate in internal and external audit processes, including preparation of supporting schedules
Participate in forecasting and budgeting processes

Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance
1-3 years of related experience
Preparation of monthly Management Discussion & Analysis
Prepare journal entries and G/L account reconciliations
