Our Dallas, TX client is looking for a Virtual Design Supervisor (sheet metal).
Description:
We are seeking an experienced sheet metal designer to fill the role of Virtual Design Supervisor for our sheet metal design group in Dallas. The successful candidate will help plan, develop, organize and supervise the design efforts of the sheet metal design group for multiple on-going projects. This is a working supervisor position responsible for mentoring and providing full administrative and technical direction to assigned personnel. Prior experience with CADDUCT strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical direction to design team by applying advanced knowledge of computer-aided drafting system standards, practices, and techniques and ensuring consistent technical excellence.
Monitor the productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel.
Assist in developing standards and procedures for the implementation of 3-D and building information modeling (BIM) platforms.
Assist in the development, implementation and enforcement of CAD standards.
Create and maintain project drawing schedules and budgets.
Mentor and provide training for in-house designers to increase their proficiency and productivity.
Assist with resolving complex design issues.
Perform additional assignments as directed.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
High school diploma
5-10 years of experience performing computer-aided drafting, prior supervisory experience a plus
3-4 years of experience in sheet metal design
Advanced understanding of current and newly-developing CAD software applications and technology
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Commitment to detail, deadlines and maintaining labor estimates
Experience with CADDUCT strongly preferred.
Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work well individually and as a team leader
