Our client in Fort Worth, TX is looking for a WebSphere Administrator for a direct hire opportunity.  The selected candidate will have the following skill set:

The WebSphere Administrator is responsible for the design, configuration, integration, installation and maintenance of the Web hosting application server environment and middleware applications on Windows and AIX infrastructure.  This role will serve as technology subject matter expert while supporting the implementation of business solutions across the enterprise.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
Installs, configures, integrates, maintains and troubleshoots application server instances and environments.
Provides technical support to the application developers for the development, QA and production environments for a variety of business systems.
Assures development, QA, and Prod environments are kept updated and in sync.
Interfaces and assists the development teams and other IT groups to gather the infrastructure and middleware requirements in the analysis, design and deployment of business solutions that utilize the application server platforms.
Serve as a liaison between the development teams and server administration teams as it relates to the web based applications.
Effectively maintains all application servers by performing maintenance to include patching and upgrades as necessary.
Ensures application server security integrity by reviewing and implementing policies within the system.
Monitors availability of the application servers and optimizes configurations to provide appropriate performance and availability.
Automates the deployment process for updating the applications.
Develops, documents and sets standards for supporting overall web infrastructure.
Mentors less experienced team members.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required.   A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science plus five years related IT experience; or equivalent combination of education or experience preferred.
Experience with general web technologies (webservers, loadbalancers, databases, ldap, http protocol, JAVA, html etc). General scripting or coding experience.  JVM Administration experience (performance tuning, troubleshooting, general design principals). Integrating application servers and MQ.  Developing, testing and maintaining business continuity strategies relating to the application server environment.
Use of monitoring tools to troubleshoot performance issues.
Ideal candidate will in addition to WebSphere Application Server (WAS) experience, have Windows, Apache/Tomcat, IIS and front end content management configuration & administration knowledge.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
Knowledge of Websphere Application Server, both Web & EJB containers.
Knowledge of Apache/Tomcat Application Server as well as Microsoft Web technologies including IIS.
Knowledge of JMS, J2EE, JAVA, AIX, LINUX
Knowledge of UNIX and Windows Operating System
Knowledge of IBM middleware applications like CTG a plus
Knowledge of JAVA programming a plus.
Knowledge of enterprise level Web Content Manager Systems.
Knowledge of SVN source code version control a plus.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
Strong attention to detail skills.
Demonstrated ability to work in teams with a collaborative interpersonal style.
Good verbal and written communications skills with the ability to effectively document procedures.
Ability to work weekends and after business hours.
Possess accurate keyboarding proficiency.
