Our Phoenix, AZ client is seeking an Account Manager on a direct hire basis.
Summary:
The primary role of this position is to work with and support either other account managers or brokers, act as their support with independent insurance agents and insurance carriers. This person should be able to take calls from agents, markets and others answering in the Broker’s stead when the Broker is out or busy. This position can assist in the placement of new and renewal business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will from time to time, include, but are not be limited to, helping broker with quoting, binding, and confirming new and existing business
With direct supervision may qualify submission opportunities
With direct supervision may contact appropriate Markets/Carriers
With direct supervision may Create and/or assemble Market Proposals / Account Summaries / Submissions
Review and enter Quoting / Binding / Processing through Agency Management Systems, filings with State DOIs are done in a timely and correct manner
Account Servicing including but not limited to policy review, endorsement review, policy additions and deletions, renewal processing and cancellations including premium calculations
Maintains quality controls and checks work of others for accuracy
Provides backup for others in the team or for broker(s)
Be able to refer complex/difficult complaints/inquiries to Broker or team leader
Performs other related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have an attention to detail, ability to handle complexity and have knowledge of the insurance industry. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1 – 3+ years of insurance industry experience or equivalent (Wholesale Insurance Brokerage a plus), college degree a plus
Windows and Microsoft Office Suite knowledge – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Basic understanding of limit structures
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships
Strong ability to organize and administer various tasks
Must have the ability to communicate and work with people in a fast paced environment
Sales & service attitude, and the ability to work in a team environment are also requirements of this role
Ability to write reports and business correspondence
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers
Ability to calculate numerical amounts such as premiums, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages
Ability to solve practical problems
