Our client in Dallas, TX Is looking for an Accounting Assurance Senior.  The selected candidate will have the following skill set:

Position summary
The Assurance Senior will perform assigned tasks in advanced assurance areas of an engagement or project to assist in the completion of client service work while providing direct supervision to assurance Staff and Interns.  The Senior is responsible for understanding the Firm’s service approach, professional requirements, and lines of business. As ability to assume greater levels of responsibility is demonstrated, more complex technical assignments may be given.

Position Responsibilities
Complete and/or direct technical research projects in a timely and effective manner
Maintain current understanding of consulting, accounting, tax and assurance standards through periodicals, continuing education and other methods
Delegate tasks effectively to team members and provide assistance and training when needed
Supervise, train and evaluate staff and seniors to assist in their professional development and to ensure they fulfill their responsibilities
Review work-in-progress and staff workload to ensure smooth work flow
Identify internal control deficiencies and document management letter comments in assigned assurance areas
Review team members’ completed work and provide constructive feedback
Effectively identify, document and communicate engagement outcomes
Prepare billings and collections and find resolutions in fee disputes
Maintain a clear understanding of clients’ business and industry characteristics related to the assurance engagement
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
Represent clients with regulatory agencies
Actively participate in annual planning, budgeting and staffing meetings
Play key role in office marketing activities, generating leads and converting them into new business opportunities

Required Qualifications
An undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or an undergraduate or graduate degree with sufficient course work to achieve CPA certification upon passing the examination
Progressive understanding of accounting (GAAP) and assurance (GAAS) procedures and standards
Ability to research technical issues independently
Ability to identify internal control deficiencies and document management letter comments in assigned assurance areas
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and ProSystem fx Engagement
