Our Irving, TX client is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk on a contract basis.
The primary responsibility of the Accounts Payable Clerk is to insure that all vendor invoices are reviewed, coded, and paid in a timely manner to avoid potential late fees and to verify services and products invoiced were provided to the location.
Essential Functions:
Review payables for accuracy; verify services invoiced, coding for the regional location as well as check coding from other locations, and to make payment in a timely manner.
Enter invoices into the computer system
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, generally accepted accounting practices, and instructions
Day to day filing is to be kept current
Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, vendors and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Answer phones and provide excellent customer service to all callers.
Perform research as needed on behalf of customers, auditors, regulatory agencies, management and others
Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment
Other duties as assigned
Employment Experience and Skills:
Two years experience in the Accounts Payable position
Great Plains experience
High School degree
In depth, solid working understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel
Experience with Access, PowerPoint and Outlook a plus.
General knowledge of accounting and understanding of the general ledger accounts and how they relate to invoices
Professional appearance and demeanor.
