Our Austin, TX client is seeking an Admissions Director on a direct hire basis.

Overview:

Responsible for ensuring Admissions process, from lead generation to end of first month of class, functions adequately in terms of number of students, quality of students, level of student expectations/satisfaction, and in accordance with all school and company policies and procedures, all applicable federal and state regulations and all accrediting agencies standards and requirements. Acts in a leadership/supervisory role for the Admissions Department in a small and medium school.  Manages or assists in managing all aspects of the admissions function as well as, if applicable, assisting in establishing revenue budgets with the Vice President of Admissions and Marketing.

Responsibilities:

Establishes school sales goals to achieve/exceed anticipated revenues, as well as, achieves/exceeds set goals.  Assists with this duty when reporting to a VP Marketing & Admissions.

Assist in the structure, documentation and implementation of Admissions Department organizational processes/procedures.

Ensures consistent operation of department in accordance with all school and company policies and procedures, all applicable federal and state regulations and all accrediting agencies standards and requirements.

Proficiently knowledgeable of all State, Federal and Accrediting Agencies relating to student recruitment and admission.  Ensures compliance to same.

Provide management accurate daily performance reports related to advertising and recruitment program effectiveness, and future start populations.

Ensure adequate checks and balances in Admissions process to prevent unrealistic expectations of prospective students in regards to their course or end objective.

Assist in hiring staff and training, supervising, and replacing staff as needed to ensure qualitative and quantitative objectives are achieved in the Admissions process.

Develop, document, and implement ongoing program of professional training for Admissions Representatives, and staff.

Ensures timely completion of employees’ performance appraisals.

Monitor the application process from generation of lead until the start of the student.

Direct the follow-up activity of unconverted interviews, unsold leads and actual and pending enrollments.  Strong follow-up with enrollments to better ensure they will start their program.

A minimum of three times a week, assist Admissions team with stitch-in process.

Plan promotional events to raise the visibility of the school among its various publics.

Host and coordinate open house events to facilitate student enrollment and stitch-in.

Plan retention events to “hold” current applications.

Plan new student registration and orientations.

Performs other duties that the VP Marketing and Admissions deems necessary and appropriate.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree highly preferred and minimum 3 years experience in Admissions/Sales and management experience with a proven track record in driving sales team

Strong knowledge of Excel and Word applications

Knowledgeable of all school and company policies and procedures, all applicable federal and state regulations and all accrediting agencies standards and requirements relating to admissions

Organizational and time management skills

Prior supervisory experience required

Extraordinary telephone, interpersonal, communication skills – oral and written, interviewing and follow-up skills required

Ability to work under pressure and ability to interact with students, parents, teachers and guidance counselors required

Goal driven, results oriented ability required

Must be available to work shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays

Short and long term planning skills
