Our client located in West Houston, TX has a need for a Billing and Collections Manager.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the general management of the entire billing and collections (B&C) department as well as medical records. Additionally, this individual is responsible for performing and understanding analysis and maintaining metrics related to billing activity as well as documenting and improving billing processes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Support B&C Operational Manager and Medical Records Manager in their daily duties to ensure efficient work processes
Ensure that work instructions and job descriptions are documented and maintained for all job positions within the B&C Departments
Ensure that all processes are documented and maintained within the B&C Department
Maintain all metrics for the department and work with Controller to make strategic decision based upon metrics
Analyze revenue and collections data to ensure that processes run efficiently
Responsible for managing disciplinary action as well as the employee performance appraisal process and goals
Identify opportunities for process improvement
Other duties as assigned by Management

Working Conditions:
Regularly required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.
Frequently required to stand.
Occasionally required to walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Vision requirements include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Noise level in the environment is moderate.
Regularly required to lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally required lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications:
Competent in Medisoft (Practice Management Software)Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
5-10 years of experience in medical billing and collections field (out of network billing is a plus).
Excellent communication / negotiation skills.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts, apply concepts of basic algebra.
Ability to type accurately with at least 40 words per minute.
Ability to manage objectively and provide constructive feedback to all subordinates

Education:
College Degree Highly Preferred (High School Education / GED acceptable)
2 years or more in a similar role.
