Our Galleria area Houston, TX client is seeking a Corporate Claims Manager.  Develops, implements and manages claim management programs to meet corporate cost containment goals in accordance with policies, practices and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Manages the claims staff and third party administrators (TPAs) in the management of property, environmental and casualty insurance claims, and provides global claims analyses to all stakeholders
Keeps apprised of new services and products that assist with claim management and cost reduction efforts
Manages vendor relationships and contracts
Develops vendor service plan, monitor vendor activities including audits; revise plan as needed
Develops and oversee performance guarantees; revise performance guarantees as warranted
Develops and review reports to facilitate program management
Works collaboratively with vendor(s) to develop action plans for process improvements
Reviews vendor contracts
Claims Management
Reviews reserves and settlements as defined thresholds
Obtain, review and strategize large loss claims status reports

Assures proper claim management and awareness and management of adverse claim trends

Establishes claim escalation process and intervene as identified

Manages claims disposition by directing and monitoring the activities of the claims staff including, hiring, performance management, training and development in accordance with HR policies, practices, and procedures.

Claims Management Training

Coordinates and provide training to internal customers (role and process)
Educates external partners
Oversee claims management information on intranet
Quarterly Claims Management

Completes and delivers Performance Appraisals for Claims Staff.
Establishes and manages the Litigation Management program for Claims Staff and TPA’s to implement.
Recommends and implements standardization of procedures to improve efficiency of Claim Specialists.
Assists department head with reports to senior management and with complex projects.
Informs departmental management on claims’ status.

Identify areas of in-depth analysis
Collaborates with senior risk Control analyst to assess trends and plan for process improvements

Advises primary stakeholders and management on methods and means of reducing risk.
Assists in preparing year-end loss reserve analysis for workers’ compensation, general liability, vehicle and property losses for Risk Management’s insurance renewal submission.
Reviews leases and other contracts for risk management related issues and reports findings and recommendations.
Performs other duties as assigned.

• Reserve movement rates
• Average cost of claims

Requirements:

4 year college degree in business, statistics, mathematics, or related area

MiniMum of 5 – 7 years experience in insurance claims management and vendor relations

Minimum of 2 – 5 years in supervisory/managemenT
Adjuster’s license and or designations of one of the following:
Associate in Claims (AIC),
Associate in Risk Management (ARM)
Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
Working and technical knowledge of insurance claims management including litigation
Well developed supervisory/management skills
Effective relationship building
Effective vendor and litigation management
Intermediate to advance Microsoft office products ability
Well developed ability to work with on-line third party administration claim management systems
Work prioritization and planning
Ability to analyze data and make practical recommendations
Sound and accurate decision making with ability to support and explain reasons
Customer focused
Protection of company assets

Accuracy and thoroughness
Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, rations, percentages, and statistics
