Our Dallas, TX client is seeking Geo Tech on a direct hire basis. The Geo Tech will be a key member of a multi-discipline team and will support the professional staff through management and utilization of geological data by using industry software applications.
Responsibilities:
Manage log and geophysical data.
Ensure safe work practices are being followed within area of influence.
Be able to assist the professional staff with map and cross section generation and log and geophysical data entry utilizing the EarthPak and 3DPak interpretation software.
Perform research tasks at local county library, log library and online resources.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years experience as a Geological Technician.
At least intermediate experience level in EarthPak and 3DPak.
Experience with SMT’s KINGDOM software is required.
Associates degree or higher, preferably in petroleum-related discipline.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point).
Must be able to handle multiple tasks; excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor, prioritize work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
Oil field terminology and practical field knowledge.
Good written and verbal skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Experience with DrillingInfo and Arcview software preferred.
Proficiency in Database management in Oracle and/or Access preferred.
Industry and/or academic training in geology and geophysics.
