Our Dallas, TX client is seeking a Geological Technician on a direct hire basis.
Responsibilities:
Under minimum supervision, provide data management and technical assistance to geoscientists, engineers and management in order to facilitate the interpretation, integration and presentation of various data types (seismic, well log, satellite, engineering, economic, commercial, etc.)
Utilization of standard industry and vendor databases, mapping skills and spreadsheet tools in a GIS environment to provide technical displays, logistical support, planning, legal descriptions of land and acreage mapping.
Job tasks include the need to catalog, store, maintain and readily retrieve in hardcopy and digital formats, data, interpretations, analysis, etc.
Assist in preparation and presentation of data, analysis, and displays used to monitor business performance and characterize opportunities.
Requirements:
Associate Degree and/or at least 3 years of applicable upstream oil and gas industry experience.
A proficient understanding of Oil & Gas exploration data types and functions is required.
Comprehensive knowledge of GIS systems, and ability to work with multiple data types
Prefer software experience, ArcGIS, Petra, SMT, Microsoft Access, MS Excel, Adobe, Powerpoint, PIDwights and Drilling Info.
Must have strong database and data management skills
Effective team player who takes an active role in team responsibilities
Ability to work with minimum of supervision
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work on multiple tasks.
