Our Downtown Houston, TX client is in need of a JIB Accountant for a Direct Hire opportunity.
Major Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have Joint Venture Accounting experience as well as familiarity with applications such as JIB Processing. To be successful in this role, one would need to be a self-motivated, results-oriented professional with exceptional organization, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Primary responsibilities include:
Calculate the monthly LOE and Capital accruals and record them in conjunction with Operations
Performing monthly LOE and Capital variance analysis
Perform DOI maintenance, allocations, overheard, and salary and mileage distribution
Enter AFE’s into the system after review
Processing of non-operated Joint Interest Billings
Preparation of company operated JIB’s and the subsequent collection of JIB receivables
Accrual of Ad Valorem Taxes
Amortization of Insurance
Coordinate all joint venture audits including preparing written responses to all exceptions
Gathering and reviewing data necessary for divestiture packages
Reconciliation of Joint Venture related accounts
Preparing audit schedule and responding to audit inquires for quarterly and year-end statutory audits
Assisting Treasury Department with proper coding of cash receipts related to JIB Receivables
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required. CPA or CPA candidate is preferred
Minimum of 5+ years of experience with Joint Interest Accounting for Oil and Gas, required
Experienced working within COPAS guidelines, required
Experience with Excalibur Accounting Software, preferred
