Our Dallas, TX client is seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal on a contract to possible hire basis.
Duties:
Take on administrative duties, such as handling incoming calls, filing, and assisting with client correspondence.
Act as a go-between from the attorneys to the clients.
Type from rough draft, verbal instructions, dictating equipment, or on own initiative, into proper legal format: correspondence, memoranda, complaints, motions, answers, warrants, subpoenas, commitments, hearing reports, interviews, depositions, briefs, points and authorities, extraditions, jury instructions, verdicts, opinions, ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and related legal documents.
Maintain files and indexes
Maintain security of data in accordance with regulations
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant and 1+ years experience as a Paralegal required
Bachelors Degree preferred but not required
Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook
Tabs3, Sage Timeslips, or Compulaw experience preferred
Maintain professional dress
Professional phone skills and the ability to work with multiple lines required
Able to handle stressful, busy office.
Must be extremely organized and self motivated.
