Our Allen, TX client is looking for an Sales and Use Tax Analyst. The selected candidate will have the following skill set:
Prepare sales and use tax calculations and analysis to ensure accurate and timely filing of returns and payments with multiple state, city and county authorities
Organize and maintain sales and use tax records.
Adhere to policies and procedures to ensure proper filing of tax returns and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
Monitor changes in tax rates and legislation, update management and team about discovered modifications, and initiate alterations to comply with authoritative requirements
Utilize online tax research services to reach conclusions about newly explored opportunities or jurisdictions
Compile information and supporting documentation to satisfy information document requests issued by tax auditors
Requirements:
Advanced knowledge of current state and local sales/use tax laws, concepts, policies and regulations and the specific application of these to the service industry.
Experience and proven skills in multi-state sales/use tax research and interpretation – ability to make conceptual connections and apply these to business transactions.
Strong listening and communication skills, written and oral – ability to convey tax rationales and conclusions clearly, in both summary and detail form.
Ability to organize, problem solve, and execute multiple tasks and priorities.
Ability to work under tight reporting deadlines.
Four years of experience working in the multi-state sales/use tax industry.
