Our Grapevine, TX client is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer on a contract basis.
Under general direction, debugs complex software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply and maintain quality standards for company products. Design, code and execute automated test scripts. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Prepare reports and documentation updates. Technical consulting on automation issues, tools and processes. May take part in researching best practices, new tools and technology. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel. Develops and executes software test plans. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years related experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Requirements:
At least 3-5 years of testing experience in web applications
At least 3-5 years of testing experience in client server application
At least 3-5 years of Experience with Airport/Airline Domain or Native.
Deep knowledge and experience with one or more of the following testing methods: functional & integration testing of applications, performance, stress & scalability testing, failure injection, security testing & boundary testing.
Familiarity of writing test artifacts and knowledge of industry standard test repository tools
Experience with XML/web services
Experience with Defects Tracking/Metrics
Experience testing distributed computing systems
Experience with Project Plans and working with Project Managers
Familiarity with Data Driven Testing, Fitnesse, or related tools and processes
Experience collaborating with customers and business experts
Nice to have Proven ability to program in Java or similar object-oriented language
Nice to have knowledge of RDBMS & SQL
Nice to have knowledge of scripting languages such as perl/php/ruby
