Our Dallas, TX client is seeking a Senior UI (User interface) (/UX (User Experience) Designer.  Candidates must have a strong portfolio of recent UI and visual design work.

Responsibilities:

     

  • Design simple, intuitive solutions to complex educational UX problems.
  • Brainstorm, research, wireframe, design and refine user experiences for web sites and web applications – all within specified product requirements and deadlines.
  • Create detailed user flows, storyboards, wireframes and other IA documents from of high-level concepts.
  • Turn wireframes into production-ready designs for implementation.
  • Create detailed style guides based on final mockups.
  • Advocate for best practices, great usability/user-centered design and exceptional quality.
  • Conduct usability testing with paper prototypes or full web applications.
  • Track and review usage analytics.
  •  

Requirements:

     

  • 5+ years of professional front-end web/UI design experience.
  • Experience with web applications, not just web sites.
  • Experience conducting usability testing and analysis.
  • Solid understanding of industry best practices.
  • Solid understanding of UX design principles.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, decision-making and leadership skills.
  • Experience in developing web-based mobile applications; knowledge of mobile web design principles.
  • Experience in developing educational web sites and web applications, preferably for the K-12 marketplace.
  • A talented, versatile and creative person: In a given day, you might be asked to design low-fidelity wireframes, design high-fidelity mockups, and brainstorm incremental improvements.
  • Adaptable: You must be comfortable with a moving target. We employ an iterative design process, which often involves multiple rounds of brainstorming and revisions.
  • Detail-oriented: You recognize edge cases and other hidden “gotchas” and account for them while conceptualizing features.
  • Open-minded: Try as we might, we don’t always know exactly what to do next. Occasionally, you’ll need to fashion multiple solutions to the same problem so they can be tested out in the wild.
  • Objective: You are not personally attached to your own ideas.
  • Self-motivated: You’re able to follow through on projects under Creative Direction. You work well independently and in a team setting.
  • Articulate.  You have excellent written and verbal skills to communicate ideas, concepts and designs.
