Our Plano, TX  client is looking for a software engineer Linux Side:

JOB SUMMARY:
Seeking an experienced senior software engineer to execute the complete software development lifecycle for embedded and backend systems in the mass transit industry (bus, rail, & air).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
BS or MS in Computer Science, Mathematics or relevant industry experience.

REQUIREMENTS:
Good communication skills (written and verbal)
Highly motivated self-starter accustomed to aggressive schedules
5+ Years Linux (Application and/or System) Design and Development Experience in C/C++.  This implies:
GNU make
GCC, GDB
Command line interface (UNIX shell commands, etc.)
System V IPC (shared memory, semaphores, pipes)
Linux file I/O and driver interfacing
TCP/IP communication methods
Experience with embedded Linux systems (buildroot, LFS, etc.)
Experience with Subversion or CVS version control and practices
Excellent software design practices: data encapsulation, data hiding, top-down decomposition, inter-process communications and other best practices

PLUSES:
Experience in a CMMI level 2 development environment including adherence to software design, coding and documentation standards
Experience in the mass transit industry
