Our Plano, TX client is looking for a software engineer on the server side:
Seeking an experienced senior software engineer to execute the complete software development lifecycle for server based GUI & backend software in the mass transit industry (bus, rail, & air).
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
BS or MS in Computer Science, Mathematics or relevant industry experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Highly motivated self-starter accustomed to aggressive schedules
6+ Years Windows Visual C++/C# development experience and/or 6+ Years Linux (Application and/or System) design and development experience in C/C++. This implies:
MSDN .Net and foundation classes
GUI design and implementation
SQL/MySQL database integration and access
Linux server and application design and implementation
Linux development experience on multiple distributions (Ubuntu/RedHat etc.)
Windows Server development experience
Experience with Subversion or CVS version control and practices
Excellent software design practices: data encapsulation, data hiding, top-down decomposition, inter-process communications and other best practices
PLUSES:
Experience in a CMMI level 2 development environment including adherence to software design, coding and documentation standards
Experience in the mass transit industry
Physical Requirements:
Heavy phone and personal contact with applicants, employers, employment agencies, and other organizations. Heavy PC usage. Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to stay late in the evenings or work weekends for job fairs.
