Our Houston, TX client, located in the Galleria area, is in need of a Vice President of Managed Services for a Direct Hire opportunity.

Summary:
The Vice President of Managed Services’ role is to assure the successful execution of the company’s business mission though the development of the Professional Services and Support Services groups. This requires envisioning the company’s service and product offerings and planning for risk and growth.
Candidate MUST have experience working in IT Managed Services to be considered.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Participate as a member of the executive leadership team
Develop and oversee the Support Services and Professional Services groups
Collaborate with the appropriate departments to develop and maintain a technology plan that supports client needs
Manage P&L for entire IT department Profit Center.
Provide visible leadership for the company within the technology community
Anticipate and react to major technology changes to ensure the maintenance of company leadership in the competitive landscape
Assess and communicate risks associated with technology-related investments and purchases
Ensure consistency of existing systems by creating and enforcing standards and procedures for implementing technical solutions
Analyze and improve upon technology standards to maintain a technological and competitive edge within the market
Collaborate with the leadership team on the design and build of new services and product offerings
Work closely with other department managers and executives to define and deliver new services and products
Attend regular leadership meetings and provide reporting on the service and support department
Attend vendor sponsored events for new service and product offerings

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Escalate service and support department issues to the VP/GM as required
Develop in-depth knowledge of the service catalog and how it relates to customer’s needs
Conduct performance evaluations and mentor those with less experience
Responsible for entering time and expenses in ConnectWise as it occurs
Enter all work as activities or service tickets in ConnectWise
Review IT publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry

Key Accountabilities/Performance Indicators:
Maintain Service Level Agreements and Service Level Goals each month
Maintain Services revenue ratio of 3 times the total group compensation
Conduct and maintain an average score of 4 on customer surveys set forth by the President
Maintain Gross Margin of 55% or higher

Knowledge, Skills, and.or Abilities PREFERRED:
Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA or MCSE, Citrix CCEA or CCIA, SonicWall CSSA, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP
Strong organizational and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to interpret technology and market trends as a foundation for technology and product roadmaps
Ability to create and ‘manage to’ a department budget
Knowledge of IT applications, process, software and equipment
Skill in strategic planning with an ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-3 year time span
Skill in planning and preparing written communications
Skill in leading people and getting results with a strong customer orientation
Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care
Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
Service awareness of all organization’s key IT services for which support is being provided
Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details
