Our Dallas, TX  based client is seeking a bilingual transportation dispatcher to work in a very fast paced environment. 

This position is responsible for the day to day dispatching of up to 120 trucks and truck drivers also, insuring that drivers are dispatched to their routes in a timely manner. It is important that the individual has the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately recall information. Under supervision by the Dispatch Manager the Dispatcher ensures that The Company is always represented in a professional and courteous manner. A Dispatcher is responsible for handling all of the scheduling, planning and coordinating of Service calls they receive from Customers Service, Sales department, Supervisor and mangers. They are accountable for dispatching the appropriate driver to complete a work order. The Dispatcher is responsible for staying in constant communication with the driver, CSR, Supervisor and Managers to follow up on Service calls, this is to ensure that the work order is complete and the Customer is satisfied.

Primary Duties:

1. Proper execution of beginning of day processes, ability to work under pressure.
2. Communicate daily with Drivers, CSR, Supervisors, Managers and Sales department.
3. Responsible for the timely work order assignment to drivers.
4. Responsible to execute delivery instructions based upon schedule required by CSR, Supervisor, Administrative personal and Managers. Ensure deliveries and pickups are made on time.
5. Maintain proper records and ensure information is executed timely and correctly.
6. Check drivers manifest as to accuracy and make sure correct paperwork is attached when they return to the dispatch.
7. Proper execution of end of day processes. Responsible for the daily maintenance of the dispatch board. Set up system for next morning’s appointment times.

Job Specifications

The person in this position should have the following credentials:

1. Experience in the transportation industry with at least three years in operations and dispatch.
2. Works under general supervision and
ability to work under pressure
. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
3. Solid communication skills in SPANISH and ENGLISH including written and verbal.
4. Must be computer literate and have basic to intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs such as word and excel. In addition, working knowledge of an e-mail system is necessary.
5. The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and recall past information.
6. Must be able to communicate with drivers.

7. Ability to work well with others, responsible and reliable.

Normal work days are Monday through Friday, plus one or two Saturday per month. Work days and hours do vary depending on seasonal demands.
