Our Fort Worth TX Client is searching for a Business Unit Sales Manager.

Position Summary: 

  • Manages sales activities of organization by developing and implementing sales business plan, ensuring proper account coverage, and developing account managers.  Responsible for revenue generation, budgeting and forecasting. 

Supervises:

  • Account Managers and support personnel

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Direct sales team

  • Establishes account assignments and goals per account manager
  • Facilitates direct reports’ personal development and skill      enhancement through training, feedback, and performance reviews
  • Ensures proper account manager coverage across Business Unit
  • Optimizes sales by ensuring appropriate fit between account manager and customer. 
  • Ensures all product lines are being proposed with existing accounts
  • Assists in closing sales and relationship development

Develop sales strategy

  • Oversees development and execution of effective sales strategy for the Business Unit
  • Determines customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, discount rates, and inventory requirements
  • Develops sales campaigns
  • Assists in proposal development by identifying and developing “win strategies”
  • Monitors the competition and reports actions and trends to management
  • Coordinate with other Business Units, Regions, NA Sales, Fleet and Finance.
  • Tracks effectiveness of processes impacting customer service, and works with subject matter experts or other functional representatives to modify the processes/procedures/ practices
  • Coordinates with key personnel (Order Entry, Customer Billing Reps, Account Managers, Sales Directors, Shop and Field Managers, PSL group) to assure customer needs are met
  • Facilitates closing of opportunities generated by account managers outside the Business Unit
  • Coordinates National Account needs and strategies with National Account Managers

Coordinate with Product Line/Corporate Marketing

  • Determines appropriate presence required by Company at trade association meetings.
  • Leads effort from local perspective.
  • Ensures local needs are met with current product offering
  • Communicates required inventory levels
  • Communicates projected future needs to ensure Company is developing appropriate products

Required Skills or Tools:

  • Management skills & sales skills
  • Industry knowledge and involvement
  • Product knowledge – has it or capable of learning
  • Has and maintains a valid driver’s license
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8 plus years in Sales or related experience and/or training
  • 3 years of experience within the gas compression industry desired

Physical strain:

  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
