Our Houston, TX client located in The Woodlands, TX has an immediate need for a Buyer/Purchasing Specialist with experience purchasing related materials, equipment, supplies for facilities and pipeline construction projects.
Responsibilities:
Purchase materials, equipment, supplies in accordance with Major Projects Procurement Policy and Procedures
Prepare and issue requests for proposals, and analyzes proposals
Prepare specifications, supporting spreadsheets, and issuance of purchase orders
Interact with vendors and departments regarding expediting of shipments, price changes, reconciling of invoices, product specifications, and receipt of final documentation
Act as a liaison between user departments and vendors
Maintain records, data information, files, reports, price lists etc in accordance with established policies and procedures and audit guidelines
Requirements:
8+ total years of purchasing experience with some background buying facilities and pipeline construction related materials, equipment and/or supplies
Knowledge of purchasing practices, procedures, vendor selection and justification
Skilled in processing material requests and analyzing proposals
