Our Austin, TX client is seeking an experienced Controller for a direct hire opportunity:

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assist with the implementation of a new ERP system and related system interfaces
Establish, monitor and enforce financial policies and procedures
Ensure reports and systems are compliant with GAAP
Direct all aspects of accounting operations and preparation of annual financial forecasts/budget annual financial statements, monthly and quarterly financial statements and other accounting reports
Design, production and qualitative analysis of all financial reporting (management, banking and accounting)
Implement, document and maintain adequate processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with GAAP
Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records
Implement a process to record transactions by department and compare costs incurred to budget and performance analysis of profit centers
Document and manage accounting and internal control systems, processes, procedures and policies with emphasis in revenue & expense recognition, ticketing, travel/entertainment policy, fixed assets, billing and purchasing.
Technical accounting research and cash management planning and reporting
Monitor and review transactions to ensure compliance with tax law (payroll, international, travel entertainment, property, sales)
Financial monitoring of all revenue and vendor contracts including approval, billing/collection, payment, revenue recognition/sharing/tax compliance. Controller will supervise the Accounting Manager and anticipated staff of 3-5 additional employees.

Qualifications:
7-10 years of comparable experience (industry or practice) required.
CPA and audit experience required; Big 4 public accounting experience a plus.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Relevant Sports and Entertainment, start–up experience preferred.
Must be technically proficient in computer systems including Excel; experience using NetSuite a plus.
An outsourced ticketing service and/or event management software experience a plus.
Experienced in financial planning and budgeting.
Motivated; willing to work long, non-standard hours; excellent inter-personal skills; accustomed to demanding responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
excellent management skills with the ability to mentor and motivate others; excellent work ethic and writing skills.
