Our Dallas, TX client is seeking a Contract HR Generalist to cover a maternity leave for a 90-120 day assignment.

Responsibilities:
Ensures the proper application and interpretation of established policies throughout the
plant.
Administrative lead on functionality on Payroll collection systems for both hourly and salaried employees.
Demonstrate knowledge about employees within the area and the value of that knowledge when applied to specific solutions to problems, specifically in the area of Time Away from Work. Must be regarded by the employees as someone who can help them solve problems within the divisions work structure and who can find answers to their
questions.
Assists managers and team leaders with coaching and counseling for problem resolution and improved employee performance.
Interprets and administers employment laws and policy.
Ensures compliance and accurate reports
Assists any EEOC complaints and OFCCP audits with the goal of having no issues,
findings or fines.
Ensures the integrity of employee data in the HRIS
system and facilitates the use of the system by ensuring that users are trained
and that information can be retrieved and manipulated efficiently.
Works closely
with the appropriate corporate or external staff to solve related problems.
Oversees benefits administration for division(s) including on-boarding
process, vacation carry-over, setting annual holiday schedules, deals with
employee issues bringing to timely resolution, and oversees many division wide
programs such as annual service awards program/celebration,etc.
Keeps abreast of latest trends and technology related to human resources functions.
Identifies and suggests ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the
department.
Assists Human Resources Manager with special projects.
Assists with the compensation program, which includes developing job
descriptions, performing job analysis, analyzing salary surveys to monitor
internal equity and market competitiveness and facilitates the performance
evaluation program. Guides managers through the Salary Planning process. Ensures
performance evaluations are honest and fall within corporate guidelines.
Secondary contact for employees and managers to answer general inquiries and
provide general information including: compensation, benefits, attendance,
performance reviews/evaluations and terminations.
Ensures the consistent
application and interpretation of company-wide policies and programs including
performance management, employment and career development.
Advises, supports and assists with positive employee relations activities and
investigates and resolves employee relations issues.
Leads and/or supports HR processes including on-boarding, off-boarding, payroll, FMLA, leaves of absence, safety and worker’s compensation and unemployment claims processing.
Leads or supports HR projects and conducts HR-related training (e.g., new
hire orientation, benefits orientation, safety/ergonomics, HR compliance,
positive employee relations, etc.).
Partners with Corporate Recruiter to ensure the quality and quantity of staffing levels through effective manpower planning and cost efficient employment programs by managing and implementing an effective hiring and selection process.
Manages the Worker’s Compensation and Leave Programs for division(s).

Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree
5 + years of HR experience required.
Union experience is HIGHLY preferred
Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field preferred.  Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification a plus.
Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices and related Federal/State labor laws is a must.
Previous HRIS business systems experience a plus.
Strong interpersonal & communication skills to collaborate effectively build team consensus and influence others.
Ability to coach and manage employees through complex and emotional issues.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills a must.
Ability to process confidential information in a professional manner.
Exemplary leadership and communication skills to effectively lead, mentor and facilitate.
Self-starter, able to work with or lead cross-functional teams.
