SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The Human Resources Coordinator administers policies and procedures relating to the human resources and the safety function of the Company through working relationships with other personnel within the company.  Position oversees the work and performance of one benefits/payroll position.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise and utilize the work and performance of the benefits/payroll position.

Conduct company recruitment by locating candidates for interview quickly for positions requested by departmental managers and supervisors.  Additionally, develop methods to always have an eye on the key and most difficult positions to locate, skilled craftsmen/women.

Conduct new hire process consisting of drug screen, physical, new hire orientation, file set up and input of employee photo into ERP and Workforce Management products.

Manage and administer employee benefit programs (including, but not limited to, health insurances, 401k, reimbursable expenses such as boots, tools and eyewear by listening to employee questions and concerns, assisting in claims resolution, maintaining relationships with benefit providers and handling the maintenance, updating, and communication with employee Workforce Management product.

Oversee and/or manage the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records and orderly compliance of such laws and regulations as, but not limited to, EEOC, AAP, FMLA, FLSA, TWC, and ADA.

Work with department supervisors and employees to resolve employee relation concerns and work performance issues; identify negative trends and propose solutions.

Work with department heads to build our apprentice programs with the local college in the areas of machining and welding.

Develop and deliver training and presentations to employees on various human resource subjects, company safety program, and other related issues required by law and approved by management.

Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resource management while identifying potential impacts on our company and communicate these to supervisor

Monitor and supervise proper recordkeeping of personnel files and ensure legal compliance of any requests for inspection of such files.

Assist department heads with developing and writing job descriptions,

Maintains and updates all employee related policies and procedures.

Respond to all outside inquiries regarding release of employee information.

Oversee weekly generation of payroll and ensure daily timekeeping is kept up as well as changes in address, pay rates, absences, deductions, etc.

Manage Workers’ Compensation claims including assisting in having treatment provided, the filing of forms and the follow up to ensure that the claims are paid and that the employee is eligible to return to work.

Administer, maintain, provide suggested improvements, track and document company safety program via communications and trainings to employees, utilizing a safety team and developing ideas based on direction from management while also maintaining OSHA required filings and remaining up to date on current requirements of OSHA in our workplace.

Arrive at work as scheduled, notify supervisor of all absence in a timely manner and make productive use of time.

Assist with other special projects and perform other related duties as needed, requested or assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

Minimum of 7 years of progressive related experience.
