Our Houston, TX office located near the Galleria Area is looking for a Senior Accounting Specialist on a contract to potential hire basis.
This position will report directly to the Operations Manager and will assist in various facets of the company’s Accounting Department. The ideal candidate will have experience in working in a re-structuring environment with the ability to implement cost effective policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain several required schedules such as amortization of deferred financing and mortgage amortization
Analyze assets and other liabilities
Process AP & AR
Manage cash distribution
Assist in preparing financial statements including P&L
Perform month end close of the general ledgers
Prepare and adjust journal entries
Reconcile Balance sheet accounts
Resolve reconciling items on a daily basis
Requirements:
5+ years of directly related experience
BA/BS Degree, preferably majoring in Accounting or Finance
Experience in working in a Property Management/Real Estate Industry is a plus
Advanced QuickBooks knowledge
Software experience with Rent Manager, preferred
Must be able to quickly adapt and work with a wide variety of professionals
Must be energetic and proactive
