Responsibilities:
Accurately record oil and gas revenue from the Company’s producing properties.
Ensure timely payment of all severance taxes and filing of governmental reporting.
Administer severance tax audits.
Supervise/ mentor Venture Accounting Associate.
Upload all revenue information from OGSYS to SAP for monthly closing.
Supervise third-party severance tax consultants.
Work closely with Marketing on all pipeline agreement and tariffs.
Account for the BU’s joint ventures in accordance the accounting procedures prescribed in the respective Joint Operating Agreements (JOA).
Analyze each Joint Operating Agreement, be familiar with provisions, and ensure it is properly set-up in SAP.
Monitor cash calls and minimize receivables.
Work closely with representations of joint venture partners to ensure proper and accurate accounting.
Supervise third-party joint venture auditors and provide all requested information.
Provide accurate reports and analysis of operations as requested.
Leads an Accounting Associate.
Timely and accurate uploads of OGSYS revenue information into SAP.
Accuracy of the financial reports.
Adherence to and compliance with management standards.
Teamwork, professionalism, and morale exhibited by members of Accounting Department.
Interface with Managers and their staffs in preparation of various reports and analysis.
Primary accounting contact with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement.
Maintain good working relationships with Joint Venture partners.
Maintain open line of communication with Marketing Department personnel in regards to transportation issues and imbalances.
Maintain an open line of communication with Perth regarding all financial issues.
Provide information and records as requested to external auditors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
Minimum two (2) years accounting experience.
Experience in revenue and/ or joint venture accounting role within upstream Oil and Gas operations preferred.
Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Fluent written and spoken English.
Knowledge of IBIS Finance system (SAP) preferred.
Knowledge of OGSYS preferred.
